Taking a look back at the semester and going through all of the things we learned and the different leadership styles, it shows me that there isn't just one characteristic that you need to have to be a great leader. You need to be open and embrace each situation differently, and handle each individual as just that... an individual. You won't always be successful, but you can always try and continue learning and growing. Going back to school was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I found the hospitality industry, found what I want to do, and really found myself. I've had an amazing opportunity this year to be in a leadership position as the Planning Director of the Lodging Management Student Association, planning their annual New York trip for 24 students. It was a success and an awesome learning experience for me. Taking all that I have learned and applying it towards my future, I can say that I am so beyond excited. I just accepted an incredible offer with the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa for their Corporate Management Training Program in the Rooms Division and couldn't be more excited! This is the beginning of a new chapter in my life and the start of an amazing career where I can really put my leadership knowledge and skills to the test.
